Mike will present and diffuse electroacoustic works by South African composers on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Fenway Center at Northeastern University. The concert includes works by Njabulo Phungula, Cara Stacy, Pierre-Henri Wicomb, Ulrich Suesse, Meryl van Noie, Miles Warrington, Dimitri Voudouris, Jürgen Braununger, Theo Herbst, and Neo Muyanga. The event is in collaboration with Prof. Dennis Miller and the Department of Music at Northeastern University.

Mike will be giving a lecture on composing mixed works at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute on June 29, 2017.
Boston Musica Viva will perform Peanootz at their Emerging Composers Concert.

On Thin Ice was performed and recorded by the duo Strange Interlude (Lily Press, harp; Simon Linn-Gerstein, cello) at Northeastern University’s Fenway Center in March, 2017.
Mike has been invited to give a concert and masterclass at the University of Florida’s Contemporary Music Festival in Gainesville on April 7. He will be performing his own works Hotbird and Sarteano l’estate, plus Fausto Romitelli’s Trash TV Trance.

Peanootz was recently recorded by Hub New Music with Matt Sharrock conducting. The recording session took place at the Fenway Center at Northeastern University in early December.
