Woods, Metals, Skins was composed in 1999 at Dartmouth College. This piece is No.8 in a series titled Polyrhythmic Modulation Studies. As with the other pieces in the series, Woods, Metals, Skins explores the use of temporal modulations as a primary compositional element. This percussion trio explores the complexity that arises from gradual transitions between different polyrhythmic relationships.
