On Thin Ice explores the highest registers of the two instruments. The pitch content is derived from a tonal progression that gradually unfolds in the cello part, while fragmented melodic materials emerge from the harp. The piece was composed for the Strange Interlude duo (Lily Press, harp; Simon Linn-Gerstein, violoncello).
